Daniel Simpson

Trainee Veterinary Nurse

Originally from Devon, Dan joined us in April 2014. On completion of his A-levels Dan spent 18 months working and travelling overseas. After honing his already polished customer service skills in such dazzling environments as the Yacht Club of Australia in Sydney, Dan was poised on the edge of what would no doubt been an extremely successful career in hospitality. However, the wish to fulfil his lifelong dream of working in the veterinary industry drew him back to the UK and we were lucky enough to receive an application from him for our Trainee Veterinary nurse position.

Dan is now studying towards his veterinary nursing qualification at City and Islington College under the guidance of our Head Nurse, Mark. He has taken to vet nursing like a duck to water, particularly enjoying the fresh challenges we are presented with on a daily basis in the surgery. A pleasure to have around, Dan loves chatting to clients and is extremely proficient at eliciting laughter from those who surround him.

Among his furry family are Amber, a 6 year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel (and firm favourite of the staff), Biggles the 8 year old Ragdoll and 7 year old Ragdoll, Bluebell. Having had a background in riding, Daniel also hopes to get back into the world of horses in the near future.

Other goals for this year include gaining high marks in his first year VN exams, expanding his knowledge of canine and feline nutrition, taking a photography course, starting a blog, embarking on more travel and getting involved with an environmentally focussed charity. Knowing Daniel, we're sure he will be successful in all of these!
